Dear Resident
You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of a attempt burglary that occurred on Beech Square, this occurred in the early hours of the Wednesday 4th February around 0315hrs and the method of attack was by attempting to snap the cylinder lock to allow entry.
BETWEEN TIMES STATED UNKNOWN PERSON/S HAVE APPROACHED LOCUS, A RESIDENTIAL DWELLING. BY UNKNOWN MEANS HAVE CAUSED DAMAGE TO DOOR HANDLE, HOWEVER THE LOCKING MECHANISMS STILL IN OPERATIONAL ORDER. NO ACCES WAS GAINED AND THE VICTIM WAS ALERT BY NOISE.
Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between Wednesday 4th February around 0315hrs to check if you had any activations.
Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock.
Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police. Should you have any information about either burglary please contact us on 101. Thanks
